In October 2018, I had the great opportunity to purchase RDH Strike Gold from Charles and Sherri Reece. I consider myself very fortunate and lucky for them to select me, among so many potential buyers, to be the farm that RDH Strike Gold calls home.
Strike Gold is a very special buck. My 2018 and 2019 kids have the conformation and meatiness you look for in a meat goat. Very thick loin area, thick neck/chest and wide rear end and very deep. Strike Gold is the deepest buck I've every seen and when he matures he may be even bigger/deeper than his sire, ECR Black Gold.
ECR Black Gold was the litter-mate brother to ECR Gloria and his dam was a full sister to Loverboy

HighlightsDecember 2018:
We successfully collected Strike Gold and have his semen in the tank. January 2019: Strike Gold is turning out to be a doe maker! 72% doelings this year after fourteen kids and over 70% for his lifetime! January 2020: Strike Gold's kids continue to impress me. Several of his does have proven to be great mothers, perfect big udders, and great maternal instinct. His bucks grow out well and there are several on farms around the south east and their kids are being born this year. December 2020: Strike Gold continues to make some exceptional goats. One of his daughters sold for $3100 at the 2020 Cream of the Crop Sale. I have several of his sons on farms from Texas to the coast of Virginia and between and all of them have been very happy with their Strike Gold Grands. I feel he is making a great impact adding meat back to Kiko Meat Goats! August 2021: Strike Gold does continue to grow out very well and are highly sought after. A Strike Gold daughter was my top selling doe at the 2021 Heritage Kiko Invitational and sold for $5000. August 2022: Strike Gold had a buckling finish in the top 10% of the West Virginia Buck Test! Great showing Ashfield Farm Kikos! Big Chocolate finished 18’th in the WVU Buck Test. October 2022: Strike Gold does continue to bring top dollar at consignment sales. Three strike daughters at this years Cream of the Crop sale brought $4100, $5250, and $3250. |

Strike Gold is a product of an embryo flush and transfer. We loved the depth on ECR Black Gold. Doing a little digging into his history, we read that Terry Hankins, owner of Egypt Creek Ranch and breeder/owner of Black Gold, believed the best results with Black Gold were attained when crossed with ECR P77. The choice for a donor doe was narrowed to the P77 granddaughters here on Dean Hill. We have several daughters of Roho Grande, son of P77 and ECR Rusty, both offspring of Southwest Cisco. We chose our deepest Roho Grande doe to enhance the traits we were hoping to create. And we are excited that the pairing exceeded our expectations. It is our hope, that Strike Gold will keep the great qualities found in his dam and sire alive and going strong for generations to come! ECR Black Gold was the litter-mate brother to ECR Gloria.
